The Role
As a Financial Planning Associate at David James Wealth, you will be joining our team to learn and grow in the world of financial planning. In this supportive role, you’ll work closely with senior team members to assist in the creation and implementation of financial strategies for our clients. You’ll engage with clients, helping gather the information needed to build a comprehensive understanding of their goals, values, and financial situation.
Your role will focus on learning how to listen effectively, ask insightful questions, and assist in tailoring financial plans that reflect clients’ personal aspirations and current circumstances. You’ll be mentored on how to help craft clear, actionable strategies that aim to grow, manage, and preserve our clients' wealth.
Throughout your training, you’ll gain hands-on experience in supporting the financial planning process, tracking client progress, and making adjustments as needed. As you build your knowledge and skills, you’ll gradually take on more responsibility, always with the support of our experienced team. This role offers you the opportunity to develop the expertise necessary to become a key player in the financial planning industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Building strong, long-term relationships with clients under the guidance of senior team members
- Assisting in delivering engaging and valuable ongoing service to clients, learning how to address their needs
- Supporting the team with administration and paraplanning tasks, ensuring smooth handovers and efficient processes
- Collaborating with the financial planning team, learning from best practices and contributing to the delivery of quality advice
- Continuing professional development (CPD) to ensure your skills, knowledge, and ideas are up to date with the latest trends and practices in financial planning
- Assisting in building referral relationships with professional connections across various disciplines, gaining experience in networking and relationship management

Qualifications/Experience
- Working towards Level 4 Diploma in Financial Advice
- Minimum 2 years’ experience of working within the financial planning industry
- Strong IT skills, as we are a technology focused business
